RIX Riga Airport 50th anniversary: Closer than expected

In 2024, RIX Riga Airport celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking the occasion with ambitious future development plans and a refreshed brand identity under the slogan “RIX – Closer than expected.”

To strengthen brand awareness and engage the public, the airport brought the festive spirit to the city center during Riga’s birthday celebrations. Visitors could explore an exhibition of airport technical equipment and enjoy a Silent Disco with Latvia’s top DJs, all while taking in one of the best views of the city’s skyline.

More than 12,000 visitors joined the celebration of RIX’s anniversary, experiencing the world of aviation beyond the airport’s borders. Closer than expected.
